Top Hat T35-TB King Rollover T-35 2x12 Guitar Tube Amp: Pros and Cons
The Top Hat T35-TB King Rollover T-35 is a 2x12 inches, 35-watt guitar tube amplifier known for its portable design, versatility, and distinct sound. Like all products, it has its strengths and weaknesses. Here, we'll explore the pros and cons of purchasing this particular guitar amplifier:
Pros:1. Portability: The T35-TB King Rollover T-35 is quite compact compared to many other tube amps, making it an ideal choice for musicians who travel frequently or require an amplifier they can easily transport.
2. Flexibility: This amp features both a 12AX7 preamp tube and two 6V6 power tubes, allowing for a wide range of tones with different sounds based on the preamp tube used. Users can easily swap these tubes out to cater to their preferred tone.
3. Tube rollover capability: The T35-TB King Rollover T-35 allows you to switch between different outputs (preamp and power tubes) with the push of a button, enabling quick tone adjustments and experimentation during live performances or recording sessions.
4. Preamp out: This feature makes it convenient to record directly into a console without the need for a power amplifier, saving money and space.
5. Authentic tube sound: The T-35 provides a warm and organic tone that is inherent to guitar tube amplifiers.
Cons:1. Limited power: With only 35 watts of power, the T35-TB King Rollover T-35 may not provide sufficient volume for large venues or outdoor performances.
2. Single channel: It lacks the versatility of multi-channel amplifiers, limiting users to a single channel and tone setting.
3. Limited headroom: Due to its low power rating, it might demand more skill to avoid squealing and distortion at higher volume levels than larger amplifiers with greater headroom.
4. Weight: Despite its compact size, the T-35 still weighs approximately 25 pounds, making it somewhat portable but not unusually lightweight.
Conclusion:The Top Hat T35-TB King Rollover T-35 2x12 Guitar Tube Amp offers a unique combination of portability, versatility, and an authentic tube sound. Its tube rollover capabilities and preamp out make it a versatile choice for recording and live performances. However, its limited power, single channel, and weight may deter those needing more volume or additional tone options. Considering these pros and cons, the T35-TB King Rollover T-35 might be the perfect fit for musicians who require a portable amplifier for practice, recording, or smaller gigs where volume isn't too much of a concern. For larger venues or those seeking more functionality, alternative options may be worth exploring.
Recommendation:If the Top Hat T35-TB King Rollover T-35 matches your requirements and you're looking for a portable guitar tube amplifier, we recommend making a purchase. On the other hand, if you need more power, more channels, or are uncertain about tube amplifiers, then consider alternative models like Fender's Super Champ X2 or Marshall's Code 50. Ultimately, your decision should depend on your unique needs and preferences.
I do have a video of this exact at the end pictures so can hear little sound demo. Has the original Made in England Celestial G12 H30 greenback speakers. The sound is clear and an amazing pedal platform. This is a well taken care of Top Hat King Royale in beautiful white Rolex and newer tubes with only about 3 hours on them.
Its been in a non-smoking home and has mostly used studio setting as well handful of church gigs. Upon closer inspection, there is a couple slits on the grille cloth where tore bit, these are in almost perfect line and could probably be stitched to look like it didn't happen. It works well and sounds excellent on low high volumes. Condition: The presents very well and looks nice.
The leather handle is cracked but usable. Pictures show the condition well. I sell several guitars and amps online am experienced in shipping will pack it securely. This has been my personal for about 11 years.
A few normal small scuffs and a couple chips on the cab corners but overall is in very good condition for age.
