The Vox AC30SRT2x1965JMI Tube Reverb Twin is a stunningly crafted guitar amplifier that harks back to the iconic 1965 JMI (Joseph Matthews Industries) era of Vox amplifiers. The heart and soul of this amplifier lie in its twin 12AX7A preamp valves and two EL84 power valves. These valves not only imbue the sound with the signature Vox chime and clarity but also provide a harmonically rich and responsive tone that reacts to the subtlest nuances of your playing dynamics.
The AC30SRT2x1965JMI boasts a versatile range of tone shaping options. It features two independent channels, each with its own volume control, tone stack, and presence control. Channel 1 offers a more traditional, cleaner sound, while Channel 2 delivers a more overdriven, gritty tone. The built-in spring reverb adds an extra dimension of depth and ambiance to your sound, providing a spacious and lush effect that is reminiscent of the classic Vox "Top Boost" amplifiers.
Adding to its vintage appeal is the presence of a footswitchable Top Boost modifier. This feature recreates the original AC30's "Top Boost" circuit, which was a favorite among artists like Brian May and The Shadows. This circuit boosts the high frequencies, giving your tone a bright, punchy, and articulate character.
With its 30-watt output, the Vox AC30SRT2x1965JMI Tube Reverb Twin is a perfect companion for small to medium-sized venues. Its Celestion Alnico Blue 12" speakers deliver a warm, rich, and balanced tone with exceptional clarity and definition.
